The Fine Arts museum of Asturias<\/a> is situated within three buildings: the Velarde Palace, the Oviedo-Portal House and the Sol\u00eds-Carbajal House.<\/p>\n

It was opened in 1980 from the art collection owned by the former Province of Oviedo.<\/p>\n

Its rich cultural heritage, consisting in almost 15.000 items of the XIV and XXI centuries, makes it one of the best public collections of art in Spain, with excellent Spanish (Goya, El Greco, Dal\u00ed, Picasso\u2026) and Asturian (Evaristo Valle, Nicanor Pi\u00f1ole, etc.) paintings.<\/p>\n

The Archeologic Museum of Asturias<\/a> is placed from 1952 in the old cloister of the San Vicente convent. This building was declared National Heritage Site in 1934.<\/p>\n

The elements of the permanent exhibition are placed in the old cloister of San Vicente convent and in four other floors of a modern building that is part of the old monastery\u2019s ground.<\/p>\n
